This video showcases some of the work that contributed to the development of Julio Productions and the level of knowledge and attention to detail behind it.

Early Industry Experience

Before founding Julio Productions, Julio gained experience across a wide range of productions while working both as an independent freelancer and as part of established production teams. These opportunities placed him inside touring environments, corporate productions, broadcast productions, and live events where technical coordination, creative collaboration, and precise execution were essential.

Working alongside experienced crews and production companies allowed Julio to observe how large-scale productions are designed, organized, and executed in real-world environments. These early experiences exposed him to the systems, workflows, and level of discipline required to deliver complex productions successfully.

Over time, this hands-on work developed a deeper understanding of how every element inside a production environment connects β€” from lighting, audio, and video to staging, visuals, and the coordination of entire teams working toward a shared outcome.

Training and Mentorship

During his formal training in audio production & engineering and live sound & show production, Julio studied under instructors with extensive experience across both studio recording and live touring environments.

Studio recording instructor Steve Hodge, whose career included work with artists such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Usher, brought firsthand insight into the creative process that happens long before a performance reaches the stage. Through that work, Julio gained a deeper understanding of how music is developed and recorded at its earliest stages.

Julio also studied under Peter Greenlund, department lead for live sound and show production, whose background included work with artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince, Willie Nelson, and The Commodores. His instruction helped deepen Julio’s understanding of how those studio creations ultimately translate into live performance environments.

Together, these influences helped shape an approach that views the creative process as a continuum β€” from the earliest stages of music creation to the environments where audiences ultimately experience it.

The Formation of Julio Productions

The lessons learned through early production work, combined with guidance from experienced mentors, ultimately led to the creation of Julio Productions.

During the company’s first year, Julio had the opportunity to contribute to a Red Hot Chili Peppers production β€” a moment that carried particular meaning given the influence of the instructors who helped develop his understanding of live performance environments.

Experiences like this helped refine the standards that continue to guide Julio Productions today: disciplined preparation, thoughtful system design, and an unwavering focus on the people and creative work at the center of every production.

What began as years of learning and collaboration eventually formed the foundation of a company built to approach productions differently β€” with intention, precision, and care for the environments and teams that bring experiences to life.
